Accounting Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Accounting Assistant to support the Finance team of a busy chemical manufacturing business. You will help maintain accurate financial records and ensure smooth day‑to‑day financial operations across multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounting journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Manage accounts payable, process invoices, and handle supplier payments.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, cash‑flow statements, bank deposits, and petty‑cash records.
• Assist with month‑end adjustments and financial reporting.
• Support stock takes and investigate inventory variances.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and improve accounting processes.
• Provide administrative support to the Finance Department as needed.

Required profile

• ACCA Level II qualification.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
