Accounting & Financial Analyst – EMEA

About the role

The Accounting and Financial Analyst for EMEA will support BNP Paribas' Finance hub in Madrid, ensuring accurate accounting, tax, regulatory and risk reporting across more than 250 entities. You will work closely with back‑office teams and external auditors to guarantee data quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, book and reconcile accounting and management adjustments across all reporting axes, including segmented data.
• Perform suspense provisioning and legal/tax provisions.
• Oversee accounting controls performed by Back Offices, reviewing monthly results and quarterly sub‑certifications.
• Control and analyse data for regulatory reporting (Matisse allocations, BMRC feeding, Accounting‑to‑Risk reconciliation, local regulatory reports, non‑standard feeds).
• Provide finance supervision for LoD1 controls, ensuring completeness of data fed by back‑office tools.
• Support back‑ and middle‑office teams on accounting queries and coordinate responses to external auditors.
• Escalate issues to team leader or head and ensure timely resolution of auditor requests.
• Participate in system upgrades, reporting tool releases and identify process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong background in accounting, finance or related field.
• Experience with regulatory and risk reporting in a banking environment.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with back‑office and audit teams.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with strong analytical capabilities.
