AG1 Support Production Engineer

About the role

As an AG1 Support Production Engineer at Airbus Defence and Space, you will ensure smooth and efficient production of the Airbus MRTT aircraft during the structural conversion phase. You will provide on‑site technical assistance to the production line, helping to meet quality, schedule and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide immediate technical support to operators and technicians on the AG1 product line, troubleshooting assembly, testing and integration issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce defects and optimise resource use.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of non‑conformances and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Create, review and update work instructions, process specifications and quality control plans, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Support configuration management activities, maintaining revision control and traceability of components.
• Collaborate with tooling design and maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and proper functioning.
• Deliver technical training to production personnel on new processes, tools and quality requirements.
• Work closely with manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, supply chain and program management to resolve technical challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in production, manufacturing or industrial engineering within aerospace, defence or high‑tech manufacturing.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including assembly, integration, testing and quality control.
• Familiarity with aerospace materials, components and systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA) – a plus.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with root‑cause analysis tools.
