AI Software Developer

About the role

Join CHAMP’s Innovation & Insights team in Barcelona to design and deliver AI‑powered software solutions for the global air cargo industry. You will build production‑ready AI/ML services, integrate intelligent features into CHAMP platforms, and contribute to the AI Hub that automates real‑world logistics challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Translate design specifications into clean, efficient code following CHAMP’s engineering standards.
• Develop and integrate AI‑based features using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Python and related technologies.
• Maintain high code quality, performance, and reliability through testing and debugging.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA engineers and other software developers.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Support mobility by traveling to other CHAMP sites (Luxembourg, London, Singapore, etc.) as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing Java applications.
• Strong command of English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work in an Agile environment and collaborate across distributed teams.

Required skills

• Java and object‑oriented programming.
• Spring Boot framework.
• Angular front‑end development.
• Python programming (preferred for AI/ML components).
• Docker and OpenShift containerization.
• GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Design patterns and clean‑code practices.
• Experience or interest in AI/ML, large language models, and RAG‑based automation.
