Area Head of Logistics & Services Procurement - South West Europe

About the role

Maersk is looking for an Area Head of Logistics & Services Procurement for South West Europe, based in Madrid. The role shapes procurement strategy across Iberia, France and the Maghreb, covering Landside Transportation (FCL), Warehousing and Depots (OPEX & CAPEX) and FTL/LTL (Middle and Last Mile). It represents procurement at Area Leadership Team level and works closely with Regional leadership in Copenhagen.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Area Procurement team across Spain, France and the Maghreb
• Align Area procurement with Regional and Centre Procurement teams in a matrix organisation
• Partner with Product, Sales, Customer Experience and Finance on long-term plans, growth projects and cost alignment
• Negotiate and hold senior relationships, and coordinate Service Level Agreements with partners
• Integrate Maersk Contract Management frameworks to ensure compliance and supplier performance
• Build a digital footprint in supplier engagements and turn market analytics into a competitive edge
• Represent procurement at Area Leadership Team level and travel to strategic vendor sites and assets

Required profile

• 10 years of experience in logistics, inland transportation, warehousing, cold chain, intermodal, contract logistics and supply chain management
• Experience in a matrixed multinational environment (freight forwarding, 3PL, shipping or large industry)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
• Team leadership of about 6 direct reports and ability to lead digital change
• Fluent English; Spanish and/or French is a strong advantage

Required skills

• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Power BI, and ERP systems
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and analytical skills
