Assembly & Components Engineer – Manufacturing Engineering

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an Assembly & Components Engineer to lead the industrialisation of new components and assembly modifications. Based in Sevilla, the role bridges internal Airbus functions and external suppliers, ensuring successful manufacturing transfer and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead industrialisation of new components and assembly changes, meeting quality, cost and schedule targets (OTOCOQ).
• Act as the technical focal point for supplier manufacturing, coordinating with Procurement, Design, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Manage configuration and technical consistency of subcontracted parts.
• Assess supplier capabilities, including process validation, capacity and robustness.
• Evaluate costing, workload estimates and support RFPs and make‑buy decisions.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives at suppliers to boost productivity and reduce non‑conformities.
• Coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) activities and maintain RP3 certification.
• Capture lessons learned for metallic technologies and promote ethical supplier interactions.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in metallic, composite or assembly manufacturing.
• Previous work directly with suppliers in quality, industrialisation or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong project leadership and cross‑functional coordination skills.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
