Avionics Systems Engineer – Military Derivatives

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer to join its Avionics Department in Getafe, Spain. You will work on Military Derivatives projects, handling system interfaces and supporting the overall aircraft design.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop avionics systems for operational concepts.
• Define requirements documents and technical specifications.
• Plan and execute V&V activities, including test procedures, development tests and formal test monitoring.
• Analyse test results and produce test reports.
• Contribute to program milestones, reviews, qualification and certification processes.
• Support the complete design lifecycle and interface with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science or a comparable discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a related field.
• Background in aircraft avionics, software test engineering, requirements‑based engineering or equipment/system level development.
• Proven experience with airborne avionics systems and knowledge of aeronautical regulations (e.g., ARP4754, DO‑178, DO‑254, DO‑160).
• Strong analytical thinking, independent work style and excellent communication in English.
• Ability to work in an international, multidisciplinary team and obtain security clearance.
