Clinical Research Physician

About the role

Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) is seeking a Clinical Research Physician to join its Medical Monitoring Unit. The position is full‑time and home‑based in Spain, reporting to the Medical Monitoring Unit Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Medical Monitor, conducting comprehensive medical monitoring for oncology clinical trials.
• Respond to medical inquiries from investigational sites and trial teams.
• Review patient eligibility, protocol deviations and safety data at both patient and trial levels.
• Assess Serious Adverse Events, including coding, causality, expectedness and draft company comments.
• Prepare scientific slides and present protocol information at investigator meetings, scientific committees and safety review committees.
• Serve as the primary clinical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders such as IRBs, sites and sponsor medical teams.
• Collaborate with Medical Writing and Training units to write or review trial‑specific documents (protocols, DSURs, CSRs).
• Deliver medical training on trial‑specific or general topics.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor degree.
• Strong knowledge of oncology and oncology clinical trials.
• Minimum 1 year experience in medical monitoring of oncology trials.
• Current knowledge of ICH GCP guidelines.
• Excellent English; Spanish is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in Spain.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with ICH GCP guidelines.
