Cloud DevOps Infrastructure Engineer - AWS

About the role

Roche is looking for a Cloud DevOps Infrastructure Engineer for its cloud platform on AWS, based in Madrid. You will independently solve technical business problems with guidance when needed and contribute to projects that require knowledge of DevOps and infrastructure management.

Key responsibilities

• Improve the full lifecycle of platforms and services, from design through deployment, operation and retirement, applying software engineering principles to build large-scale IT infrastructure with self-service tools and APIs for developers.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and develop self-healing features.
• Ensure IT infrastructure meets agreed SLIs, SLOs and SLAs in line with QA requirements, and monitor and resolve incidents with blameless postmortems.
• Contribute to disaster recovery plans and audit exercises, and manage ITSM processes.
• Work with developers, managed services suppliers and vendors to improve development velocity and service reliability.
• Ensure solutions meet quality and regulatory standards and follow cost, compliance and security best practices.

Required profile

• Ability to research technical topics, learn new tools quickly and develop expertise in cloud and DevOps.
• Team player who takes part in discussions and code reviews.
• Proven ability to collaborate with diverse, virtual teams across locations and cultures.
• Familiarity with incident response, ITSM processes and blameless postmortems; proactive troubleshooting.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM) and multi-account governance (AWS Organizations).
• Hands-on experience building cloud applications with Terraform or CDK.
• GitLab/GitHub, SDLC practices and CI/CD; scripting with Python or Bash and testing with Pytest.
• Agile (SAFe) methods and tools; openness to AI assistants for learning, code generation and debugging.
