Construction Manager – Madrid

About the role

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, is seeking a Construction Manager to lead complex engineering and construction projects in Madrid. You will coordinate multidisciplinary work packages, ensure safety and quality standards, and drive project delivery for high‑profile clients across data centre, technology and life‑science sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all CSA, mechanical and electrical work packages on site.
• Manage site safety in partnership with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including set‑up, monitoring and close‑out of safety files.
• Oversee site quality assurance together with the Project Manager, handling documentation and final QA files.
• Maintain the project schedule in collaboration with planners, subcontractors and consulting engineers.
• Control project costs – labour, material, plant, equipment, variations and valuations – with support from the QS team.
• Direct daily site operations and align discipline leads to project goals.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, progress against schedule, and ensure weekly coordination meetings.
• Drive the Mercury Engineering culture of safety and quality, providing leadership on all project aspects.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale construction projects, preferably in data‑centre or high‑tech environments.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and schedule management on construction sites.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate subcontractors effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to stakeholders and conducting site meetings.
