Convention Services Manager

About the role

The Convention Services Manager will independently manage, coordinate and execute group assignments for the hotel, acting as the primary liaison for clients from turnover through post‑event evaluation. Reporting to the Director and Assistant Director of Convention Services, the role ensures flawless event delivery while maximizing revenue and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the central communication link between clients and all hotel departments, ensuring operational readiness.
• Prepare, review and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), group resumes, agendas and related documentation with precision.
• Lead pre‑convention, BEO and post‑event recap meetings, aligning all stakeholders.
• Maintain proactive client relationships, anticipate needs and resolve issues promptly.
• Oversee contractual compliance for guestrooms, meeting spaces, food & beverage and special concessions.
• Review credit information with Finance, manage deposits, billing instructions and guarantees.
• Conduct site inspections and planning meetings for upcoming groups.
• Identify revenue‑up‑selling and cross‑selling opportunities to maximize ancillary income.
• Participate in trainings, departmental meetings and sales initiatives.

• Strong ownership and strategic thinking with a high level of professionalism.
• Proven ability to manage group events from initial planning through on‑site execution and post‑event follow‑up.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
• Ability to coordinate multiple operational departments and ensure alignment.
• Financial acumen to verify credit, deposits and billing requirements.
