Country General Manager – Spain

About the role

AsstrA is looking for an experienced, commercially driven Country General Manager for Spain. The role focuses on business growth, customer development and market expansion, with the first priority being stronger sales activity, new business opportunities and a solid commercial pipeline. It also involves improving local business processes, team performance and operational efficiency. The position is based in Madrid.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the business development strategy for Spain.
• Drive sales growth and new customer acquisition; personally take part in key customer meetings, negotiations and strategic commercial activities.
• Strengthen relationships with existing clients and business partners.
• Build, manage and develop the local team.
• Improve internal processes, cooperation and operational performance.
• Monitor business results, KPIs, profitability and market development.
• Ensure effective cooperation with AsstrA teams in other countries and represent AsstrA on the Spanish logistics market.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding, logistics or transport (road transportation).
• At least 3 years in a senior commercial, leadership or business management role.
• Experience managing a team, business unit or country organization.
• Fluent Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Understanding of operational processes in logistics and experience managing business results, KPIs and profitability.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial mindset, entrepreneurial approach and strategic thinking combined with a hands-on attitude.
