Cyber Security Architect – Defence & Aerospace

About the role

Airbus Cybersecurity in Spain is seeking a Cyber Security Architect to lead the design and engineering of secure, safety‑critical aeronautical systems for the defence and aerospace sectors. You will work on UAVs, aircraft and helicopters, ensuring that security is embedded from requirements through to certification.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security architectures for safety‑critical aeronautical systems.
• Perform requirements‑based and model‑based system engineering and risk analyses.
• Coordinate security measures across multiple engineering disciplines and integrate them into the development process.
• Develop aviation security system, network and cloud architectures.
• Support certification of security‑enabled devices with national and international authorities (BSI, NATO, EASA).
• Create security concepts for European defence projects and participate in cyber‑security research programmes.
• Collaborate with partner companies, customers and internal Airbus clusters to promote security capabilities.

Required profile

• Degree or doctorate in electrical, communications, computer science, mathematics, physics or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Cyber/IT architect designing complex secure architectures for defence or aerospace.
• Practical software‑engineering knowledge.
• Familiarity with certification processes such as BSI, NATO and EASA.
• Understanding of aerospace engineering standards (e.g., SAE ARP 4754) is a plus.
