Data Governance Manager

About the role

The Data Governance Manager will lead Barceló Group’s corporate data strategy, ensuring data is treated as a strategic asset across the organization. Reporting to senior management, you will drive the implementation of data governance, quality, security and compliance initiatives while fostering a data‑driven culture.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a corporate data strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the Data Office as a catalyst for organizational transformation.
• Design and deploy the corporate Data Governance model, including policies, standards, and procedures.
• Establish roles such as Data Owners and Data Stewards and maintain a corporate data glossary.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate access controls and data usage with Legal and Security teams.
• Promote secure, controlled data access and drive adoption of data‑driven decision making.
• Organise training and awareness programmes on data governance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and report progress, risks and decisions to the Project Committee.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data or analytics environments.
• Proven experience in Data Governance initiatives or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of data architectures, data quality, security and regulatory compliance.
