Data Scientist

About the role

Applus+ is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Data & AI team within Corporate IT. The role focuses on turning data into actionable insights and predictive models that directly support sales, commercial and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets to uncover patterns, trends and anomalies related to sales performance, margins and forecasts.
• Translate business questions into analytical approaches and deliver clear, visualised insights to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Design, develop and validate machine‑learning models (regression, classification, forecasting, clustering) for sales forecasting, cost optimisation, demand prediction and customer behaviour.
• Collaborate with business units to understand processes, KPIs and identify new data‑driven opportunities.
• Gather, clean and transform data from financial, operational and commercial sources, ensuring data quality.
• Work with Data and ML Engineers to deploy models in an MLOps environment and continuously improve their performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics.
• Strong business mindset with the ability to understand “why” behind the data.

Required skills

• Python programming, including pandas, NumPy and scikit‑learn libraries.
