Development Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

Eurowind Energy is seeking a Development Engineer to support the full lifecycle of renewable energy, PtX and biogas projects in Spain. The role combines grid‑connection engineering with project development across solar PV, on‑shore wind, battery storage (BESS) and hybrid plants.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise evacuation systems for Solar PV, on‑shore wind, BESS and hybrid (PV + Wind + BESS) plants, including CAPEX assessment and technical feasibility studies.
• Coordinate with REE and Spanish distribution companies (Endesa, Iberdrola, UFD, e‑distribución) to obtain grid‑access permits and connection approvals.
• Track and manage grid‑access applications, handling submissions, follow‑ups, technical queries and issue resolution with DSOs.
• Assess wind‑energy project feasibility using wind resource data, turbine layout, network constraints and tools such as WindPro.
• Conduct electrical studies (load flow, short‑circuit, stability) with DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Support M&A teams in technical assessment and grid integration of acquisition targets.
• Identify development opportunities for Solar PV and BESS through GIS‑based capacity mapping and site assessment.
• Monitor Spanish energy regulations affecting solar, wind and storage projects.

Required profile

• Technical background in electrical or renewable‑energy engineering.
• Experience with grid‑connection studies and evacuation system design.
• Proven ability to work with DSOs, regulators and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with project development processes.
