Durability Test Engineer – Vehicle Validation

About the role

We are looking for a Durability Test Engineer to join McLaren Automotive’s Durability Team at the IDIADA proving ground in Spain. The role involves executing vehicle and component durability test programmes, analysing results and supporting the sign‑off of durability performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning and preparation of durability test activities, including control plans and consumables.
• Execute test programmes according to approved plans, engineering requirements and safety procedures.
• Monitor test progress, report risks or delays and implement contingency actions when needed.
• Analyse vehicle and component degradation data, track fatigue and identify trends.
• Perform first‑level diagnosis of durability issues and produce structured issue reports.
• Prepare technical documentation such as daily status updates, performance reports and final test summaries.
• Contribute to test efficiency by minimising vehicle downtime and supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in automotive durability testing or similar validation activities.
• Strong analytical skills for data evaluation and trend identification.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional engineering teams.
• Proficiency in preparing clear technical reports and documentation.
