EHS Manager - Data Centre Projects

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for an experienced EHS Manager to join its Industrial, Science & Technology team, working on major data centre construction projects in Barcelona. This is a site-based project role for a quality-driven professional with strong communication and client management skills, who wants to work on large, impactful projects. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in the EHS field on large, complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure project managers are aware of safety matters
• Prepare, implement and monitor the project EHS plan
• Lead safety meetings with the client and trades
• Supervise the client's EHS oversight resources, including outsourced EHS competent persons
• Assess and approve contractor safety plans and review high-risk activities
• Champion safety initiatives and support the client's safety campaigns
• Apply lessons learned and best practice, and lead investigations and root cause analysis
• Provide safety support and guidance, ensuring client safety requirements and local codes are met
• Work in synergy with the Safety Programme led by Turner & Townsend

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience in EHS lead management positions
• Demonstrable experience on large-scale, complex construction projects; data centre experience preferred
• Experience coordinating and motivating consultants and contractors, and building relationships with key stakeholders in a client-facing way
• Strong Spanish and English speaking and writing
