Electrical Design Engineer – High Voltage Test Bench

About the role

Airbus UpNext Spain is building a state-of-the‑art high‑voltage test facility to accelerate aircraft electrification. As an Electrical Design Engineer you will lead the specification, integration and commissioning of industrial power equipment for a demonstrator that will operate up to 1250 VDC and 1 MW.

Key responsibilities

• Define and specify functional hardware for a high‑voltage test bench, including AC/DC power supplies, dynamic load banks, switching matrices, energy‑storage and arc‑flash systems.
• Design high‑bandwidth, isolated data‑acquisition hardware and sensors capable of operating in high‑EMI environments.
• Draft technical specifications, evaluate supplier proposals and steer milestones throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead installation, verification, commissioning and functional validation of power equipment and system‑under‑test interfaces.
• Support prototype adaptations, conduct electrical risk analysis and develop safety procedures.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Experience with high‑voltage (up to 1250 VDC) and high‑power (up to 1 MW) systems.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced, agile project environments.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and test data interpretation.
