Facility Planner - Barcelona Terminal

About the role

APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, is hiring a Facility Planner for its Barcelona terminal. The role plans and coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities and facility improvements, ensuring work orders are properly planned, resources are identified and legal and health and safety requirements are taken into account. It works with internal functions such as Operations, IT, HSSE, Asset Maintenance Equipment, Finance and Legal, and with external partners such as suppliers, contractors, inspection bodies, auditors and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule technical work orders covering preventive and corrective maintenance and improvement activities.
• Manage and monitor work orders, including status tracking and updates in the terminal's CMMS/GMAO.
• Identify and coordinate the material and labour resources needed for planned maintenance.
• Manage departmental requisitions and purchase orders, and support quotation requests for goods and services.
• Coordinate asset-related legal requirements, including planning, scheduling and documentation.
• Manage waste-related activities and monitor electricity and water consumption, keeping the required documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support the execution of facilities maintenance.

Required profile

• A higher vocational qualification or university degree in a technical discipline, with around five years of professional experience in a similar or comparable position.
• Completion of a basic Occupational Risk Prevention course.
• B2 level English, a driving licence and occasional travel to other terminals for temporary assignments.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, with good negotiation skills and teamwork focus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS/GMAO).
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
