Field Service Engineer – Controls Systems

About the role

The Field Service Engineer – Controls Systems will act as the on‑site technical lead for gas turbine, compressor and rotating equipment control projects. You will install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain control systems while ensuring safety, reliability and performance for our industrial and energy customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on‑site control system installation, loop checks, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Validate control sequences for lubrication, hydraulic, starter, cooling, ventilation, fire & gas, seal, fuel, process and anti‑surge systems.
• Plan and coordinate installation, upgrade and outage scopes, including schedules, skilled labour and logistics.
• Provide technical direction and ensure compliance with Baker Hughes Quality, HSE and customer requirements.
• Conduct daily HSE toolbox talks and apply site quality checklists, job cards and field procedures.
• Identify and resolve technical or material non‑conformities using Baker Hughes digital tools.
• Maintain accurate job plans, progress reports, technical reports and marked‑up drawings, communicating status to customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• Technical diploma with at least five years of field experience on gas turbines, compressors or other rotating equipment.
• Hands‑on proficiency with Mark VIe, Mark VI or Mark V control systems, PLCs and safety systems.
• Experience installing, commissioning, maintaining and troubleshooting rotating equipment, instrumentation, control logic and auxiliary systems.
• Familiarity with HDGT platforms (Frame 5, 6 or 7E) or ADGT platforms (LM2500, LM6000 or LMS100).
