Forward Deployed Engineer SWAT - Iberia

About the role

Salesforce is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) SWAT for its Iberia team in Madrid. This is a hands-on, production-focused role focused on troubleshooting, fixing and resolving complex issues in live customer deployments. You will work with a team of specialists, either in FDE Pods or directly with customers, diagnosing root causes, implementing fixes and restoring stable performance across Agentforce and the wider Salesforce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Triage, investigate and resolve complex issues end-to-end, from diagnosis to resolution, validation and handover, communicating clearly with stakeholders under pressure.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering: reproduce and document defects, provide technical evidence, collaborate on fixes and workarounds, and track resolutions through to release.
• Identify recurring issue patterns, share lessons learned with Pods, and build reusable diagnostics, runbooks and preventive best practices for the EMEA South FDE team.
• Design agent intelligence: prompts, reasoning, tool calls and integrations with customer systems using the Agentic AI platform and LLM techniques.
• Own technical components end-to-end, from architecture choice to deployed, validated and observable systems in production.
• Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks and customer data platforms, model the data, ship the pipeline and validate the output.
• Maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reporting, and contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs.
• Co-build with customers and partners, surface platform gaps and field insights to senior engineers and the product team, and partner with the Deployment Strategist in your pod.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, ideally in an AI tech stack, full-stack development or with frontier models.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services or forward deployed engineering) is required.
• Fluent in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Apex, and willing to expand the list.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering; able to explain why a prompt fails and what to change.
• Ability to stand up against sales teams and customer architects, and willingness to travel about 25% of the time.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of data modelling, APIs and integration patterns.
• Preferred: Salesforce platform experience or certifications (Administrator, Platform Developer I, Agentforce Specialist).
• Preferred: familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
