Front Office Host

About the role

The Front Office Host at Hyatt Regency Trinidad works primarily in the Regency Club and PBX, rotating to the front desk as needed. This highly visible position involves greeting guests, handling check‑in/out, and contributing directly to the guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate duties as Host, Telephone Operator, or Regency Club Host.
• Greet and thank guests in a sincere, friendly manner.
• Perform all guest check‑in and check‑out procedures, including room assignment and key distribution.
• Post charges to guest accounts and collect payments.
• Make and confirm reservations.
• Answer phones, operate the switchboard and direct calls.
• Anticipate guest needs, resolve problems and complaints.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Complete daily checklist tasks and up‑sell rooms and hotel services.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel services, promotions, policies, rates and local attractions.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Hospitality or Tourism Management or a related field.
• Fluent second language preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays and overnight shifts.
• Physically able to stand or walk for long periods.
• Strong time‑management, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional appearance and well‑groomed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications.
• Experience using Reserve/Opera hotel software.
