FTI Installation Design Engineer (Military Derivatives)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an FTI Installation Design Engineer in Getafe (Madrid) to join its Flight Test Installation (FTI) Design Team. The team designs the critical flight test installations and instrumentation needed for aircraft certification, qualification, testing and continuous product improvement, and the engineer plays a key part in both electrical and mechanical design across key Airbus Defence & Space programs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and integrate electrical system installations and functional electrical architectures.
• Prepare and release detailed wiring diagrams and electrical routing definitions.
• Develop and integrate mechanical system installations and structural design solutions for FTI.
• Manage and maintain strict configuration control of all designed installations and modifications.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities, perform technical follow-ups and ensure quality and on-time delivery.
• Support project management through planning and budget control contributions.

Required profile

• Aeronautical, electrical or industrial engineering degree, or a related technical discipline.
• Around 5 years of professional experience in engineering and design, ideally with a strong focus on FTI.
• Advanced level of English, written and spoken.
• High adaptability to new technical topics, ability to navigate new business opportunities and a collaborative mindset.
• Previous manufacturing engineering experience is highly valued.

Required skills

• Professional proficiency in CATIA V5.
• Knowledge of 3DX, SEE-XP and Capital Logic is highly desirable.
