General Accountant (French Accounting)

About the role

Nextlane is looking for a General Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records. You will support month‑end and year‑end closings, tax compliance, and audit activities while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts, post journal entries, accruals and adjustments.
• Reconcile bank, balance‑sheet and intercompany accounts.
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes, resolve discrepancies and ensure timely invoice processing.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, tax requirements and company policies.
• Assist with VAT filings, statutory declarations and tax audits.
• Support internal and external audit preparation and documentation.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Participate in ERP and finance system optimization projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in general or financial accounting.
• Experience working in an international or multi‑entity environment.
