General Accounting & Tax Manager – Spain

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Accounting & Tax Manager to lead our finance function for all WTW entities in Spain. You will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and guiding a team of accounting professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day general accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, preparing statements in line with local and US GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing and other tax obligations.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimise liability.
• Research and interpret tax laws, monitor regulatory changes and apply necessary updates.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, maintaining accurate records.
• Design and enforce accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate the accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights for business initiatives.
• Prepare and present financial analysis to senior management and manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and tax management experience, preferably in a multinational setting.
• Strong knowledge of local Spanish GAAP and US GAAP.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience with at least five direct reports.
• High integrity, analytical mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Database proficiency.
• Oracle accounting software (preferred).
