Head of General Ledger, Consolidation & Internal Controls

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Head of General Ledger, Consolidation & Internal Controls to join our finance team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the company’s general ledger accounting and financial consolidation across all business units and legal entities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily, monthly and year‑end closing activities for the general ledger.
• Ensure timely, accurate recording of all transactions in line with IFRS and Spanish GAAP.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, resolve discrepancies and manage inter‑company eliminations.
• Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, sales, logistics and other departments to guarantee completeness of journal entries.
• Lead the external audit process and act as the main point of contact for auditors.
• Prepare and lead monthly and annual consolidation of multiple subsidiaries and produce consolidated financial statements and reports.
• Maintain and improve consolidation tools such as SAP BPC, HFM or OneStream.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, support continuous improvement of financial processes, and mentor a team of accountants.
• Assist the CFO and Financial Controller with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial consolidation, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of consolidation principles, multi‑entity accounting and cost accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and Spanish GAAP.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Experience in a multinational company or shared‑service centre environment is a plus.
