Head of Last Mile

About the role

JD Logistics is seeking a visionary Head of Last Mile to design, launch, and scale a country‑wide last‑mile delivery network from the ground up. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will own the strategic and commercial direction of the network, ensuring speed, reliability, and adherence to global service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute the rollout of regional delivery stations, onboarding management teams and standardising performance across all nodes.
• Design the multi‑depot blueprint, select strategic carrier partners, and negotiate commercial contracts with third‑party delivery service providers, independent contractors, and partner fleets.
• Own national SLA performance, driving first‑time delivery rates, reducing customer escalations, and improving on‑road scan compliance.
• Manage the regional final‑mile P&L, enforce budgetary discipline, and identify cost‑efficiency opportunities while scaling capacity for B2C and B2B growth.

Required profile

• Proven track record launching a multi‑site last‑mile network in a tier‑1 e‑commerce, express parcel, or national courier environment.
• Extensive experience in strategic carrier procurement and high‑volume transport tariff negotiations.
• Professional fluency in English and the local language (Spanish or Italian); Mandarin knowledge is a plus.
• Strong executive agility to translate complex, ambiguous challenges into clear, actionable plans.

Required skills

• Greenfield network launch expertise.
• Strategic carrier procurement and contract negotiation.
• Bilingual communication (English and Spanish/Italian).
