HR Business Partner – Retail (Madrid)

About the role

UNIQLO is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support its retail operations in Madrid. You will work closely with store managers, visiting locations regularly to ensure HR processes run smoothly and to build trusted relationships across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Store Operations on organisation design, workforce planning and day‑to‑day HR activities for Madrid stores.
• Apply HR policies, processes and compliance consistently through store visits, audits, training and clear communication.
• Lead recruitment planning for new store openings, collaborating with EU Talent Acquisition and local recruitment teams.
• Drive engagement, retention and people‑development initiatives, including relevant training programmes.
• Manage employee‑relations cases and coach managers on performance, absence and policy compliance.
• Support employee‑representative topics, health & safety committees and ensure collective agreements are respected.
• Continuously improve HR tools and ways of working in collaboration with the EU HR community.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner.
• Background in retail or hospitality.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
• Proven ability to coach managers on performance, engagement and employee‑relations matters.
• Strong influencing skills and ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
• Experience in an international or matrixed HR environment is a plus.
• Excellent communication, solution‑focused mindset and customer‑centric attitude.
• Highly organised, adaptable and comfortable in a fast‑paced operational setting.
