Industrial Means Engineer (Manufacturing)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an Industrial Means Engineer to join the Industrial Means team within the Manufacturing Engineering department in Getafe, Madrid. You will work with multidisciplinary engineers to design, build and deliver critical production assets for launcher components and satellite assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage industrial means packages (tooling, MGSE, machines, autonomous systems) across full program life‑cycles, ensuring delivery on time, cost and quality.
• Design, coordinate and execute tooling and MGSE for manufacturing, machining, assembly, testing, ground operations and transport of launchers and satellites.
• Attend customer meetings (ESA, Ariane) and supplier visits, with occasional travel.
• Align stakeholder requirements from Manufacturing Engineering, Production, H&S, Quality and Logistics.
• Plan and monitor ramp‑up profiles, takt adherence and maintenance readiness.
• Support maintenance and production teams with technical expertise to guarantee reliability and safety.
• Lead call‑for‑tenders, create technical specifications, evaluate supplier proposals and manage acquisition milestones (KOM, PDR, CDR, CISS, CIPS, FA).
• Perform design, stress and FMEA analyses, GD&T verification and testing to meet quality standards.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related field.
• Proven experience in industrial means, tooling or MGSE development for aerospace or high‑tech manufacturing.
• Strong project management skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to travel for customer and supplier engagements.
• Awareness of health, safety and ergonomic requirements.
