Insurance Expert - Spanish Market

About the role

Alan is building a prevention insurance company that combines insurance, prevention and care, and is hiring an Insurance Expert for its Spanish market. The role sits within a small, talented team focused on the best experience for members, and involves monitoring the business and risks while helping colleagues understand the subtleties of healthcare and insurance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the business and the risks
• Help the rest of the team understand the nuances of healthcare and insurance
• Define the pricing and re-pricing strategy of the products
• Improve margin monitoring
• Work with the Key Account Managers team so they have the right tools to serve customers
• Analyse the profitability of the portfolio and suggest actions

Required profile

• At least 6 years of experience in health insurance
• Fluent English
• Knowledge of sector trends, pricing and repricing decisions and market practice
• A quantitative background (statistics, actuarial sciences) combined with experience in insurance products and business
• Ability to handle and synthesise technical, data, business and legal questions on insurance
• Builder mindset, keen to scale and optimise processes and systems
• Willingness to challenge the status quo in insurance and healthcare

Nice to have

• Fluency in Spanish or willingness to learn it
• Experience coordinating with teams in other countries
• Deep knowledge of the Spanish health insurance market

The position is legally based in Spain, with remote work flexibility; the company would ideally hire around its Spanish hubs (Madrid, Barcelona).
