Investment Associate – Corporate Venture Capital

About the role

Mutua Madrileña is seeking a forward‑thinking Investment Associate to join its high‑performing investment team. You will support portfolio management and help expand and optimise the group’s investment strategies across priority sectors such as mobility, healthtech, fintech and proptech.

Key responsibilities

• Map priority sectors, emerging technologies and startup trends aligned with the group’s strategic agenda.
• Source, screen and evaluate high‑potential startups through market research, founder conversations, pitch‑deck review and ecosystem intelligence.
• Assess business models, market size, competitive positioning, unit economics, traction, management teams, scalability and strategic fit.
• Monitor portfolio company performance, milestones, financial metrics and strategic value‑creation opportunities.
• Build investment theses, lead end‑to‑end due diligence and prepare valuation analyses, scenario models, cap‑table reviews and investment recommendations.
• Draft investment memos, market maps, benchmarking analyses and committee materials for senior management.
• Support deal structuring, negotiation and coordination with legal, finance, compliance and business stakeholders.
• Identify commercial pilots, strategic partnerships and collaboration opportunities for portfolio companies.
• Improve investment workflows, CRM discipline, pipeline tracking and portfolio reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Business, Data or a related field.
• MBA or postgraduate specialization is highly valued.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate venture capital, venture capital, investment banking, private equity, strategy consulting, startups or scale‑ups.
