IT Business Analyst (Barcelona, English Mandatory)

About the role

Sopra Steria, a European consulting, digital services and software development group, is hiring a Business Systems Analyst in Barcelona. The role links business objectives with the technical implementation of business applications, driving functional and technical design, specifying requirements, analysing defects and helping deliver innovative AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements with stakeholders and turn them into functional and technical specifications.
• Lead the design and architecture of business applications.
• Analyse defects and work with teams to resolve issues.
• Analyse application data to propose business improvements.
• Adapt and design components and processes to improve application reliability.
• Implement AI solutions and AI-driven processes.
• Facilitate communication between business units and technical teams.
• Use project management methodologies, preferably SCRUM, to deliver projects on time.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in computer science or IT-related fields.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in system design and documentation.
• Understanding of the insurance business.

Required skills

• MS Office, Confluence, JIRA and MySQL.
• UML, BPMN and ePC diagrams.
• Project management methodologies, with a preference for SCRUM.
• Desirable: Postman, webservices (JSON), GitHub, APIs, Java, XSD, Splunk, Dynatrace, AWS Console and the assistance value chain.
