IT Desktop Support Engineer – Backfill (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for a freelance IT Desktop Support Engineer to join our on‑site team in Madrid on a backfill basis. You will deliver high‑quality technical assistance for laptops, desktops and mobile devices, ensuring fast resolution of incidents and smooth execution of IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for Windows 7/10 PCs, laptops and network printers.
• Log, update and resolve tickets in ServiceNow within SLA targets.
• Perform hardware/software installations and imaging using SCCM and Auto‑Pilot.
• Support VDI environments (Citrix XenDesktop, Azure Cloud PC) and conference‑room AV equipment (Microsoft Teams Room).
• Manage endpoint security (McAfee, Cortex XDR) and user data (OneDrive, Office 365).
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacement and spare parts.
• Handle mobile device configuration and troubleshooting for iOS and Android devices.
• Maintain asset inventory and ensure accurate documentation of IMAC activities.

Required profile

• Basic experience in IT support with strong client‑facing skills.
• Good understanding of ITIL concepts and ServiceNow ticketing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective communication with internal and external contacts.
