Junior Data Engineer - Mobile Apps

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to help design, develop and optimise our data infrastructure on Databricks and Google Cloud. Working closely with analytics, product and data‑science teams, you will build reliable, cost‑effective pipelines that support mobile‑app data processing and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of the GCP‑based data platform, including BigQuery data warehousing and Cloud Storage data lakes.
• Assist in organising data into domain‑focused data marts and implement infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform.
• Build, maintain and improve ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow, dbt, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and related tools.
• Monitor scheduled jobs, troubleshoot failures and ensure timely data delivery for analytics and reporting.
• Implement data‑quality checks (Great Expectations, dbt tests) and uphold security best practices such as IAM, encryption and GDPR/CCPA compliance.
• Collaborate with analytics, product and data‑science teams to provide clean datasets for dashboards, reporting and machine‑learning experiments.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in a data‑engineering or related role.
• Basic hands‑on experience with GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage) and familiarity with Apache Airflow.
• Exposure to dbt, Pub/Sub, Dataflow or similar batch/streaming tools is a plus.
• Understanding of data‑mart concepts and interest in Terraform for IaC.
• Strong coding skills in Python; Java or Scala knowledge is a plus.
