Junior Project Engineer – Industrial Projects

About the role

Group-IPS is seeking a Junior Project Engineer to support industrial projects in either Madrid or Barcelona. The role is hands‑on, focusing on process environments, commissioning and start‑up phases, and offers a pathway toward project management while staying technically involved.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project life‑cycle from master planning and feasibility to construction, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Plan, coordinate and control scope, cost, schedule, documentation and reporting.
• Supervise contractors on‑site, ensuring compliance with quality, safety and planning requirements.
• Lead commissioning and start‑up activities, including vendor coordination, ramp‑up support and performance testing.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams in fast‑paced industrial settings.
• Provide technical oversight for process engineering, utilities and civil works.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in industrial environments with exposure to process engineering, commissioning or on‑site execution.
• Previous roles such as Site Engineer, Construction Engineer, Process Engineer or Commissioning Engineer.
• Fluency in English and Spanish; additional languages (Catalan, Italian, French) are a plus.
• Valid Category B driving licence.
