Key Accounts Director – Openbank Pay

About the role

Openbank Pay, the new checkout lending platform of the Santander Group, is looking for a senior, commercially‑driven Key Accounts Director to lead and scale strategic partnerships across Europe. Based in Madrid, you will own the full P&L of key accounts and drive growth across BNPL, installment, card and lending product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end commercial relationship with key accounts in all markets, defining multi‑year growth strategies aligned with Openbank Pay’s roadmap.
• Identify and develop new revenue streams, use cases and product extensions within each partnership.
• Full accountability for account P&L, including volumes, margin, cost of risk and operational costs.
• Set commercial targets and ensure delivery of growth, profitability and efficiency objectives.
• Act as senior point of contact for executive stakeholders, representing Openbank Pay in steering committees and governance forums.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Product, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Data) to ensure flawless execution.
• Lead international roll‑outs, product launches and innovation initiatives such as agentic commerce or wallet integrations.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in managing key accounts or strategic partnerships within the financial services or payments sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering P&L responsibility and growth targets.
• Excellent executive communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work across multiple markets and coordinate diverse internal teams.
