Lead Deployment Engineer

About the role

Celonis is looking for a Lead Deployment Engineer in Madrid. As the backbone of Celonis delivery, you lead the hands-on implementation of Celonis solutions for enterprise customers, combining platform expertise with AI-augmented workflows. You use Celonis's AI deployment tools as your primary instruments, directing agents to build data models, generate analyses and configure operational solutions, while applying your own judgment to validate outputs and adapt to each customer.

Key responsibilities

• Run business discovery workshops to turn customer objectives into high-impact Celonis use cases, and define project scope, data requirements and success criteria with IT and business stakeholders.
• Configure data connectivity and extraction pipelines, working with specialists if needed.
• Direct AI deployment agents to build data models, process analyses, KPIs and dashboards, and validate their outputs against business requirements.
• Build and configure Celonis solutions across the platform, including the Process Intelligence Graph, data transformations, process analysis, operational solutions and AI-powered insights.
• Identify process inefficiencies and root causes, lead value creation workshops, and define and build KPIs that measure customer success.
• Train and demonstrate to customer users, document design decisions and configurations, and manage project outcomes against timelines and scope.
• Develop deep expertise in one or more process domains or industry verticals, and share scalable solution patterns and standardized use cases with the team.

Required profile

• 7+ years in management or IT consulting, data/solution consulting, or process improvement consulting within software vendors, consulting firms or system integrators.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technology Management, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a comparable field.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations up to 50% depending on project needs.

Required skills

• Building and configuring solutions on the Celonis platform, including data modeling, process analysis, KPI definition and automation.
• Proficiency in PQL, SQL and Python.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor); prompt or context engineering experience is a strong plus.
• Deep understanding of enterprise business processes and financial metrics; knowledge of SAP, Oracle and areas such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay and Inventory Management is a strong plus.
• Consulting skills: steering workshops, presenting to management, managing stakeholder expectations and working with technical and business audiences.
