Legal Counsel – Hybrid (Madrid)

About the role

Thales is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Regional Hub in Madrid. The role is hybrid, based primarily at the office with occasional travel across Europe and Latin America. You will support export and domestic initiatives, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation for a range of defence, aerospace, and security projects.

Key responsibilities

• Secure legal aspects of commercial engineering services for Thales Operational Units.
• Identify and select business advisers, qualify key industrial partners, and manage due‑diligence files.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with advisers, ensuring alignment with Thales ethics and best practices.
• Monitor integrity assessments of third parties and produce accurate legal analyses.
• Address corporate law, governance, and compliance for local companies, joint ventures, and branches in the Latin America region.
• Contribute to organisational evolution in line with new laws, regulations, and ethical governance.

Required profile

• Law degree with a strong background in corporate, commercial, and compliance law.
• Experience working with multinational organisations in defence, aerospace, or related high‑tech sectors.
• Proven ability to interact with senior stakeholders such as directors, finance leaders, and HR managers.
• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is an advantage.
