Legal Counsel, Privacy

About the role

Glovo, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is looking for a Legal Counsel, Privacy to join its Global Data Protection Office in Barcelona. The role sits within the Global Legal, Governance and Assurance team and supports the implementation of privacy programs, advising internal stakeholders on privacy compliance and helping align business goals with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert, risk-based privacy advice on new products, initiatives and operational changes
• Support rider privacy matters, including compliance with the EU Platform Work Directive's algorithmic management provisions and GDPR Art. 22 automated decision-making requirements
• Perform and support data protection impact assessments to identify and mitigate privacy risks early
• Advise on marketing initiatives and the adtech business, covering compliance across international jurisdictions
• Develop, implement and maintain global privacy policies, statements and internal procedures
• Manage and support investigations or fine-related proceedings with data protection authorities, including mitigation plans
• Monitor AI governance developments and help improve AI governance frameworks

Required profile

• Law degree and 3+ years of experience in privacy
• Experience advising tech companies and data-driven businesses across multiple jurisdictions (a plus)
• Excellent English; German, Spanish, Italian or Polish is a plus
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence across cultures and functions
• Proactive, owning problems end-to-end and comfortable shaping compliance strategies in evolving frameworks such as algorithmic management

Required skills

• Certified expertise on EU privacy laws (IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, TÜV DPO, etc.) is a plus
