Managing Director – Trade & Working Capital Sales

About the role

Santander is seeking a Managing Director to lead its Trade and Working Capital Transaction Banking sales in Spain. Reporting to the Head of Trade Sales for Europe, you will shape the growth strategy, drive origination and execution of solutions, and embed the offering within larger investment banking transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Define, execute and monitor the Trade and Working Capital origination strategy aligned with investment banking activities.
• Lead a dedicated team of 14 professionals, ensuring high performance and collaboration.
• Identify and capture growth opportunities across Santander’s footprint.
• Advise clients on optimal working capital structures considering their overall capital position and business plans.
• Originate and structure Trade and Working Capital solutions in the context of M&A, Project Finance and Leveraged Finance transactions.

Required profile

• Extensive sales and management experience within banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders on working capital and trade finance solutions.
• Strategic mindset with strong commercial acumen.
• Leadership skills to motivate and develop a high‑performing team.
• Global perspective and ability to work across cross‑border transactions.
