Manufacturing Engineering AIT Team Leader

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering (ME) AIT Team Leader for its Spacecraft Production & AIT Spain Plant in Madrid. You will lead a high‑performance engineering team, coordinating all activities that support Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) for Earth Observation, Space Exploration and Telecom & Navigation programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and engage the Manufacturing Engineering production team to meet schedule, quality, cost and safety targets.
• Deliver complete Manufacturing Dossiers (standard planning, MBOM, assembly procedures, standard times and industrial means specifications) using the DDMS toolset.
• Provide feasible industrial plans and accurate ME non‑recurrent and recurrent cost estimations for bidding and cost brochures.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders across EOS and TNS programmes, including AIT, environmental testing, electrical, RF and mechanical engineering leads.
• Maintain adherence to cost targets and EAC budgets in collaboration with program managers and finance controllers.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives within the AIT area while ensuring compliance with company standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering and AIT within the space sector or high‑precision industrial environments.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• Advanced written and spoken English and Spanish.
