Material Planner

About the role

Alstom is looking for a Material Planner to support rail transportation projects in Madrid. You will be responsible for ensuring material availability, monitoring supplier deliveries, and collaborating with internal teams to keep the supply chain running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor supplier deliveries and guarantee material availability for projects.
• Identify risks, take proactive actions, and escalate supply issues when necessary.
• Maintain accurate data in SAP and other planning tools.
• Track key performance indicators and contribute to supplier performance improvement.
• Coordinate daily with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives within supply‑chain processes.
• Assist in stock optimisation aligned with project needs.
• Apply Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) objectives in day‑to‑day decisions.

Required profile

• Background or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
• Fluent English (minimum B2/C1 level).
• Experience in production or manufacturing environments with direct material flow and supplier coordination.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and proactive approach.

Required skills

• SAP
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Understanding of planning processes (MRP knowledge is a plus)
