Material Services Manager – Light Transport Aircraft

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Material Services Manager to join the Light Transport Aircraft (LTA) Material Services Team in Getafe, Madrid. You will be responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of performance‑based logistics and in‑service support contracts, driving high fleet availability while meeting strict cost, time and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage Performance‑Based Logistics (PBL) and In‑Service Support (ISS) contracts, guaranteeing compliance with spares and repair requirements.
• Act as the primary interface between Customer Services Regional Directors, Material Services, and Program Management to ensure clear reporting and strategic alignment.
• Coordinate with Centres of Competence (Operations, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Finance) to proactively resolve material issues and support seamless Entry Into Service (EIS).
• Monitor cost evolution, operating plans and budgets, identifying deviations early and implementing corrective actions to meet EBIT and revenue targets.
• Manage material‑services risks, present mitigation plans in Program Governance reviews and escalate critical issues when necessary.
• Support continuous‑improvement projects such as Optimum and Lean Services to reduce costs and mitigate non‑compliance risks.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical/Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in project/program management, supply chain, logistics or material support within aerospace or complex industrial sectors.
• Advanced level of English.
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership abilities, with a high adaptability to new topics.
