Materials and Processes Engineer (Temporary)

About the role

A vacancy for a Materials and Processes Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Seville. The successful candidate will join the Materials & Process Department, which ensures that materials, transformation processes (focused on special processes) and industrial capabilities meet quality and engineering/design requirements. The position is offered through a temp agency.

Key responsibilities

• Industrial qualification of processes: define, coordinate and execute qualification plans and spread out and implement process qualification requirements for Airbus DS.
• Perform technical assessments of capabilities and risks from the special processes and manufacturing processes point of view, evaluate compliance and carry out process and product technical audits.
• Analyse deviations and anomalies of special processes, manufacturing processes and materials, and conduct studies for changes in process requirements.
• Define and develop procedures and specifications.
• Represent the M&P-PE department in MFTs and task groups for the assigned projects.
• Data and trends analysis, and project management focused on the M&P industrial environment.

Required profile

• Masters degree in sciences or an engineering degree.
• Experience managing projects, KPIs and data analysis.
• Experience in special processes or M&P, such as composites manufacturing, electrical manufacturing, chemical processes, surface and protection processes, heat treatment, welding, assemblies, material testing, sealants, coatings, paints and process control.
• Experience in laboratory test methods, manufacturing shopfloor environments, impact analysis, problem solving, risk analysis, supplier audits, non-conformity resolution and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of process qualification methodologies, EN9100, the Nadcap program and quality regulations.
• Good level of English and Spanish; other languages appreciated.
• Availability for very frequent travel, including outside Europe, with long stays possibly required.
