Mechanical Design Engineer – High Voltage Test Facility

About the role

Airbus UpNext Spain is building a state‑of‑the‑art high‑voltage test facility (SparkHaven) to advance aircraft electrification. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will lead the physical and mechanical integration of the facility, from virtual mock‑up to on‑site commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Define, update and maintain the 3D CATIA virtual mock‑up of the full test facility, ensuring clearance, ergonomics and routing of piping, fluid lines and cable trays.
• Draft and manage purchaser technical specifications for mechanical structures, enclosures and mounting frames, evaluate supplier proposals and steer milestones.
• Support physical assembly, fluid piping, mechanical alignment, structural installation and heavy‑component handling on‑site.
• Conduct risk analysis and produce documentation for human and operational safety, and help define procedures and maintenance routines in line with standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience in design and integration of test facilities.
• Familiarity with high‑voltage electrical system environments.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, agile team and manage supplier relationships.
