Migration Leader - CDAIO

About the role

Santander’s Chief Data & Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAIO) division is seeking a Migration Leader to drive a large‑scale Data & AI migration program. Based in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), you will guide the transition from legacy platforms to a cloud‑native architecture while minimizing disruption and risk.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the migration roadmap, including waves, sequencing, execution plans, governance, milestones and success criteria.
• Coordinate planning and execution across multiple technology domains and workstreams, ensuring alignment with target architecture principles.
• Identify, assess and manage migration dependencies, risks, issues and blockers, driving mitigation actions and escalating critical matters.
• Ensure readiness of environments, tooling, documentation and operational support processes; support cut‑over and transition activities.
• Act as the primary coordination point for migration activities, aligning business, architecture, engineering, operations and external partners.
• Provide regular status reporting to senior stakeholders and support governance boards, steering committees and executive reviews.
• Support the modernization of data, analytics and technology platforms and promote cloud‑native practices.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in large‑scale data or AI migration programs.
• Strong ability to coordinate across multiple technology domains and manage complex dependencies.
• Excellent risk‑management and issue‑resolution skills.
• Effective communication with senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
• Experience with cloud‑native architecture and modern data platforms.
