About the role

The Navy JROTC Officer Instructor leads a JROTC program, delivering a structured curriculum that develops leadership, citizenship, and naval knowledge among secondary‑school students. This position is based within a DoDEA school environment and may require worldwide placement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and organize long‑range lesson plans aligned with JROTC standards.
• Adapt and modify teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain accurate individual and class records.
• Counsel and motivate students to achieve academic and behavioral standards.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, parents, and guardians on student matters.
• Supervise students during extracurricular and outside‑school activities.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and proof of eligibility for employment.
• Bachelor's degree (required for Navy JROTC Officer Instructors).
• At least one year of specialized experience in lesson planning, instructional adaptation, student counseling, and collaborative education.
• Male applicants born after December 31 1959 must complete a Selective Service certification.
• Willingness to sign a mobility agreement, travel worldwide, and rotate to any DoWEA location.
• Ability to meet Tier 1 background investigation and Childcare Check requirements.
