OFCI Lead – BIM Coordination & Project Management

About the role
The OFCI Lead will coordinate the transformation of design information into full installation drawings, manage BIM priorities, and ensure alignment of project schedules for complex engineering and construction projects in Madrid. This role requires close collaboration with the project manager, consulting engineers, clients, and multiple subcontractors to deliver high‑quality, compliant solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Familiarise with Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand project scope.
- Oversee the coordination process, converting design data into installation drawings by BIM personnel while ensuring specification compliance.
- Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFI) and technical queries.
- Manage BIM priorities, including modular concepts, typical fabrication details, and isometric generation.
- Validate materials and assets within the model and control change management processes.
- Coordinate project schedule with the Mercury Project Manager, consulting engineer, and client to avoid impacts on procurement and construction.
- Supervise Mercury team, subcontractors, material deliveries, plant/equipment variations, and goods receipting.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards and work with the safety team on site‑specific requirements.
- Monitor daily OFCI/CFCI vendor activities and witness vendor test activities as construction progresses.
- Assist the scheduler in creating baseline schedules for engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning.
- Liaise with key stakeholders (client design team, main contractor, suppliers, subcontractors) to support engineering requirements.
- Prepare testing, commissioning, and start‑up documentation and track subcontractor progress against schedule and manpower levels.
Required profile
- Proven experience in BIM coordination on large‑scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of IFC specifications and design documentation.
- Ability to manage RFIs, technical queries, and change control processes.
- Demonstrated competence in project schedule management and coordination with multiple parties.
- Familiarity with construction safety and quality standards.
- Experience supervising subcontractors, material deliveries, and vendor activities.
- Capability to produce testing, commissioning, and start‑up documentation.
