About the role
The OT Expert is the primary Operational Technology technical authority within the Customer Success organization, helping customers, partners and internal teams get maximum value from Armis Centrix in complex industrial environments. It is an individual contributor role that works closely with Technical Customer Success Managers, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Support and customers. The role is measured by the ability to solve complex problems and enable customer success, not by the number of implementations delivered.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the main OT technical subject matter expert, giving deep guidance on Armis Centrix in industrial settings and acting as the technical escalation point.
- Investigate complex issues such as architecture, passive monitoring, asset visibility, protocol decoding, network segmentation, scalability, integrations, data quality and operational workflows, and propose scalable solutions.
- Review customer environments and recommend architectural improvements, and guide customers on monitoring strategies, sensor placement, network visibility and asset discovery.
- Advise customers on how Armis supports asset discovery, lifecycle management, network segmentation, risk management, security posture, process monitoring and compliance.
- Support TCSMs with architecture reviews, health assessments and technical workshops, and mentor internal teams on technical knowledge and troubleshooting.
- Act as the customer voice in Product Management and Engineering, identifying gaps and shaping roadmap priorities.
- Build reusable architectural guidance, playbooks and documentation, and share expertise internally.
Required profile
- 8+ years of experience in OT, Industrial Control Systems (ICS) or critical infrastructure environments.
- Proven track record designing, reviewing and optimizing enterprise or industrial OT architectures.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges, lead investigations and escalate issues, and communicate with both technical teams and executives.
- Ability to collaborate across Customer Success, Product Management, Engineering, Sales and Support.
Required skills
- Expertise with OT asset visibility platforms such as Armis, Claroty, Nozomi or equivalents.
- Industrial networking, passive monitoring, OT protocols and SPAN/TAP/packet acquisition.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, DCS and manufacturing/utilities environments.
- Preferred: IEC 62443, ISA-95, Purdue model, NIST Cybersecurity Framework; certifications such as GICSP, GRID, ISA/IEC 62443, CISSP or OSCP.
- Preferred: OT patch management, integration with SIEM, CMDB or SOC workflows, and vulnerability tracking tools such as Qualys, Tenable.ot or Rapid7.
